This section describes the artifacts that shape what happens in this world.
No, not the sword that glows when goblins are near, and not the cloak you can wrap yourself in to vanish.
These are artifacts that do not merely carry magic – these are fantasy artifacts invested with genuinely divine power, or truly legendary in the history of this world.
The Compass of Fate.
Or, as those who understand such things also call it, the Demon-Seeker, or Saati Ruhan.
A truly evil artifact. It points towards wealth and glory, showing its bearer the road to them.
If the bearer wants neither, it will lead them to their most secret desires instead.

Its true will, however, lies elsewhere: to turn this material world into a waystation between the Abyss and the home of the Eternal Gods. To let demons into this world – that is its real purpose.
In the end it will lead its owner through a chain of events that, one way or another, brings exactly that about.
It was made by the ancient god Ferreya, back when he was not yet one of the Eternals. This artifact is what raised him.
Conspiring with the demons of the Abyss, he was able to break into the world of the gods and cast one of them down.
Afterwards he cheated the very demons who had helped him, and Ferreya became an Eternal god himself.
But ever since, a great many Saati Ruhan remain scattered across the countless worlds, and every one of them still serves its original purpose – to help the demons invade the home of the gods.
A note:
It is worth saying that the beings of the material planes do not know enough to understand this artifact fully. Not even the mightiest wizard can unravel its true nature.
The most such a wizard can grasp is that before them lies a mighty artifact, made thousands upon thousands of years ago, radiating magic of every kind: from the magic of demons to the magic of the Eternal Gods.
